Rules
& Guidance for Competition
- The
competition is open to prisoners; prisoners’ families; ex-offenders;
those on probation, community sentence, CSO, parole, etc.
- There is NO
age limit.
- Applicants
are welcome from any ethnic background, provided their work is
written in English.
- Previous
entrants may apply, provided they meet the above criteria.
- Only one
entry per person will be considered.
- Your work
must be original and must not have been published; until the results
of BTG’s competition are announced, the work must not be published
elsewhere.
- Only one
copy of your work is required and it must carry your names and
address.
- Please
include a covering letter which tells us:
a.
your age
b.
whether you are male or female
c.
your ethnicity

Entries should be
unbound and typewritten in one-and-a-half line or double-line
spacing, unless access to a computer is difficult or impossible. If
this is the case, legible handwritten entries will be accepted.
Please also provide a copy in Rich Text Format (RTF) on a floppy
disk, if possible.

BTG reserves the
right to reject contributions received for this competition that do
not comply with these rules; the decision of the judges will be
final and binding.

BTG reserves the
right to alter, amend or revoke these rules where deemed necessary.

Please enclose a
stamped addressed envelope if you would like a receipt for your
work.

Manuscripts/disks
cannot be returned.

The closing date
for the 2005 competition is 31st December 2005; any
entries received after this date will not be considered.
- If you are
still in prison please let us have a forwarding address, if you know
it, especially if your release date could be between now and 31st
May 2006.
